Happy Virgo Season my dear astro friends.
Something I don't often see people saying about Virgo is this sign's capacity to dream/wonder. Mercury rules Virgo and is an indicator of the mind ~ the way we think and what we think of. Virgo takes Mercury's intellect and plants it in Earth which is grounded, dark, and receptive --- it takes ideas and fertilizes them. How dreamy ~ to so obviously cherish an idea and then help it flower into something realized. Ooohhh, I love that about Virgo! And it is in this capacity to imagine that Virgo can more clearly identify the wrongs of the world.
I think this is why I often see Virgo characterized as a critic, a separater, cleaner, reductionist, minimalist, lesser, humble, servant. Yes, there are dimensions of Virgo that can lead to reducing.
There are a lot of ways, however, that Virgo is also an expander... Expansion of details, assigning deeper meaning to each little moment. That depth can cause such anxiety & overwhelm. It can be sensory overload. And when life feels so big, it makes sense that we'd want to limit our exposure.
I've been thinking about this a lot lately as I've been cleaning out the clutter of my life, gently scrutinizing what is or isn't necessary - functional - humane. It's not just things, it's memories, people, ideologies, behaviors.
There are so many ways we can get lost in the sensation of life ~ so many roads, so many possibilities... We can find ourselves caught in a dark place after millions of tiny unconscious decisions...
Virgo is great at helping us back-track, review, identify, and separate. But in separation is acknowledgement - it is saying yes to what is - acceptance that things are the way they are and that we want them to change. And in order to change, we have to let go, release, give up, for give ness...
When every moment & decision is so weighted by the rootsy depth of Virgo's insights, it can be easy to dissociate and evacuate from the present. But when you choose to come back and to take charge of your life, it's that depth that allows you to identify what you cut out or release or let go. It is the sensitivity, the vulnerability, the acute awareness of pain that allows you to forgive and move on.
What or who would you forgive in order to untie the bond of pain that holds you back?
There is so much suffering and destruction in the world.... Is it possible for us to sit with it? To acknowledge and accept that this is where we are; to forgive the past for being what it was; to wake up to the present and take action, to change the future.
This is Virgo Season.
